The second concert of CMC's inaugural season features Dvořák's second Piano Quartet in E-Flat Major alongside Beethoven's Kakadu Variations and Zoltán Kodály’s thrilling Serenade for 2 Violins & Viola. Guest artists include first violinist of the world-renowned St. Lawrence String Quartet, Geoff Nuttall, founding violist of the Ying Quartet, Phillip Ying, Chicago Symphony Orchestra cellist, Brant Taylor, and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center pianist, Gilles Vonsattel.

The final concert of CMC's inaugural season offers Mozart's “Kegelstatt” trio for clarinet, viola & piano, Paul Schoenfield’s klezmer-inspired trio for clarinet, violin, & piano, and Beethoven's monumental "Storm" String Quintet in C Major. Guest artists include violinist of the Orion String Quartet, Daniel Phillips, former violist of the Pacifica String Quartet, Masumi Rostad, violist of the Aizuri String Quartet, Ayane Kozasa, Chicago Symphony Orchestra cellist, Kenneth Olsen, Chicago Symphony Orchestra principal clarinetist, Stephen Williamson, and Tchaikovsky Piano Competition medaling pianist, William Wolfram.

Concert 1

This concert serves as the inaugural performance of Chamber Music Chicago (CMC). Featuring Schubert's beloved String Quintet in C Major, D. 956, the program also includes works by Beethoven and Schulhoff. As part of the worldwide celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday, CMC will present a work of his on each concert in the 19-20 season. Artistic Director and violinist Janet Sung is joined by former principal cellist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Peter Stumpf, former associate principal viola of the Dallas Symphony, Ann Marie Brink, principal cellist of the Aspen Chamber Symphony, Michael Mermagen, and renowned violinist and chamber music artist, David Bowlin.
